Brussels grants a 199 million euros subsidy to Dutch biomass refinery initiative

Delfzijl, The Netherlands, 18 December 2012 – Today, a consortium consisting of BioMCN, Siemens, Linde, and Visser & Smit Hanab[1], received 199 million euros in NER300[2] grants. With these funds, a large-scale biomass refinery will be constructed.
This initiative, also known as the Woodspirit project, will make a significant contribution to the availability of sustainable and advanced biofuels, and to the biobased economy in the Netherlands.

Suiker Unie, GasTerra and BioMCN sign agreement for production and delivery of biogas The companies Suiker Unie, GasTerra and BioMCN signed a biogas supply agreement at the official opening of the Suiker Unie biomass fermentor at Vierlaten (the Netherlands). The agreement covers the production of biogas by Suiker Unie, the transportation and delivery by GasTerra and the purchase by BioMCN. The agreement involves a minimum of 10 million cubic metres of biogas per year.

Official introduction of the advanced and sustainable GEM Fuel
Oldest rally in the Netherlands gets exclusive fuel scoop. The Netherlands, 1st June 2012 – During the 48th edition of the ELE Rally - the oldest rally in the Netherlands - the advanced and sustainable GEM Fuel will be officially introduced in the BioMCN 350Z Challenge class. GEM (Gasoline Ethanol Methanol) is a unique and sustainable fuel which consists of gasoline, bio-ethanol and bio-methanol, which can be mixed in various ratios relative to each other. It has almost identical properties as E85[1] with a significantly lower CO2 footprint than traditional fossil fuels. This is an important next step in sustainable racing and mobility in the Netherlands.

Harmen Peters new CFO BioMCN
Harmen Peters has joined the BioMCN Board of Directors as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Having worked for various companies (a.o. IthoDaalderop B.V.) Harmen Peters has gained broad experience as CFO over the years.
Besides Finance & Control, Harmen Peters’ responsibilities also include corporate IT, and purchasing.

ED&F Man signs agreement for crude glycerine
Amsterdam 3 April, 2012 ED&F Man signed an agreement with BioMCN for the sourcing, risk management and delivery of crude glycerine from Argentina. Argentina is quickly becoming the world’s largest producer of biodiesel and its residue crude glycerine. With this agreement BioMCN and ED & F Man will combine their mutual expertise in the area of sourcing crude glycerine and will operate as one sourcing organization.
