BioMCN appoints new CEO

The Netherlands - Jeroen Koot (51) will join the BioMCN Board of Directors as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Jeroen Koot is the successor of Rob Voncken who announced his departure earlier this month. The appointment of Jeroen Koot as CEO, is effective immediately.
Over the years Jeroen Koot has gained broad experience as CEO, having worked for various international companies such as Fokker, Stork and Klöckner Pentaplast.

Rob Voncken, CEO of BioMCN, will leave the company as per September 01. Under his leadership BioMCN was positioned as a leading company in the development, production and sales of second generation biofuels. Bio-methanol was successfully introduced in the market despite the difficult market environment in general and for renewable energy more specifically.
The company would like to thank Mr. Voncken for his excellent work and his contribution to the strong development of the company and wishes him all the best for his future.

2013 – The Fédération Internationale d’Automobile (FIA) has announced that the Ford Fiesta R2s used during the Junior WRC Championship will be powered by GEM fuel, a blended fuel containing regular gasoline, bio-ethanol and bio-methanol that reduces CO2 emissions by more than 50% compared to regular petrol.
Brussels grants a 199 million euros subsidy to Dutch biomass refinery initiative
Tuesday, 18 December 2012 16:36Delfzijl, The Netherlands, 18 December 2012 – Today, a consortium consisting of BioMCN, Siemens, Linde, and Visser & Smit Hanab, received 199 million euros in NER300 grants. With these funds, a large-scale biomass refinery will be constructed.
This initiative, also known as the Woodspirit project, will make a significant contribution to the availability of sustainable and advanced biofuels, and to the biobased economy in the Netherlands.

Suiker Unie, GasTerra and BioMCN sign agreement for production and delivery of biogas The companies Suiker Unie, GasTerra and BioMCN signed a biogas supply agreement at the official opening of the Suiker Unie biomass fermentor at Vierlaten (the Netherlands). The agreement covers the production of biogas by Suiker Unie, the transportation and delivery by GasTerra and the purchase by BioMCN. The agreement involves a minimum of 10 million cubic metres of biogas per year.
