2010 Nissan 350Z Challenge first cup on bio-methanol
Thursday, 03 December 2009 16:09
BioMCN is very pleased and proud to be cup sponsor and fuel supplier of the 350Z Challenge next season. This decision was enabled by the KNAF’s historic change in regulations of last October to allow M85 (85% bio-methanol, 15% gasoline) for the complete 350Z cup. BioMCN’s own Nissan 350Z FlexFuel has performed remarkably well last season (and will of course also participate in 2010). This shows that great performance and sustainability can go together – a combination all teams were eager to experience. All cars will be converted to drive on M85 early next year.

BioMCN nominated for Cleantech Star award
Wednesday, 25 November 2009 18:28
The Dutch division of the World Wildlife Fund, WNF, has presented a plan to the Dutch government to put The Netherlands in the global top 10 of clean technology companies. To accompany this ambitious plan, they have set up the Cleantech Star award. The WWF handpicked 20 companies they considered leading in this sector. After careful selection based on essays and presentations, BioMCN was one of the remaining 6 nominees. The jury was impressed by our innovative production process of bio-methanol and the contribution to CO2 emission reduction. In the end, Priva became the first Cleantech Star. BioMCN congratulates Priva with this title and is pleased to see so many great Dutch initiatives towards a greener future.
Driving on bio-methanol: historic win and decision
Wednesday, 28 October 2009 10:15
The 'Nederland Rally' saw a unique winner of the Nissan 350Z Challenge: the FlexFuel version on BioMCN's bio-methanol! Kevin Abbring and Wim Koeten, displaying terrific speed and moves, made motor sport history, being the first to win a Dutch rally in a biofuel-driven car. The overall ranking was an impressive 17th place, the fastest two-wheel drive car of the rally. The car is a project of GUTTS, Bas Koeten Racing and HAN Automotive and runs on any mixture from 100% gasoline up to 85% bio-methanol (M85). On top of the great win, the KNAF (the Dutch motorsports federation) decided to allow M85 for the complete Nissan 350Z Challenge - making it possible for other cars to be 'driven by nature'!
Business relationship with Summit Energy
Friday, 09 October 2009 14:58
BioMCN has retained Summit Energy to facilitate their natural gas energy purchasing process. Although natural gas as feedstock is being replaced by glycerine, natural gas is still used as fuel gas for the bio-methanol production process. In addition, Summit Energy will provide BioMCN with energy risk advisory, tender support and market intelligence. Summit Energy is a provider of energy management services for business and industry, helping clients (ranging from aerospace and automotive to government, chemical to healthcare, and others) to plan and implement sustainability and energy management initiatives.
Successful ISO audit
Monday, 07 September 2009 10:07
Last year, BioMCN acquired two certificates at once: 9001:2001 and 14001:2004. This year, after an intensive surveillance audit, the auditors found that BioMCN still complied with both ISO certificates. Also, BioMCN meets the criteria for the 2008 version of ISO 9001, which will therefore be upgraded. ISO 9001 provides a set of requirements for quality management systems; ISO 14001 focuses on the environment and gives the provisions for organizations wishing to operate in a sustainable manner.
