BioMCN opens largest 2nd generation biofuel plant
Friday, 25 June 2010 12:05
Today the Queen’s Commissioner of the Province of Groningen, Sir Max van den Berg, together with Rob Voncken, CEO of BioMCN, has officially opened the largest second generation biofuel plant in the world. With a production capacity of 250 million litres, BioMCN can immediately fulfil the entire Dutch biofuel obligation – a minimum of 4% blended into gasoline.
Bio-methanol is produced through an innovative process, patented by BioMCN, and is made from crude glycerin, a sustainable biomass which is a residue from industry processing vegetable oils and animal fats. The product is a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels.

The jury says Paul is a role model for his organisation, with his calm and level-headed ways and impressive technical and operational expertise.
Alexander Pechtold is driven by nature
Sunday, 06 June 2010 18:09
Alexander Pechtold, chairman of Dutch political party D66, experienced first hand what it’s like to be ‘driven by nature’. During stage 2 of the ELE rally, he enjoyed the performance of BioMCN’s Nissan 350Z Flexfuel alongside well known race driver Kevin Abbring. BioMCN's 350Z Flexfuel (running on M85, 85% bio-methanol and 15% gasoline) went on to finish 1st in its own category (the 350Z Challenge) and achieve an impressive 14th overall position.
2010 Nissan 350Z Challenge first cup on bio-methanol
Thursday, 03 December 2009 17:09
BioMCN is very pleased and proud to be cup sponsor and fuel supplier of the 350Z Challenge next season. This decision was enabled by the KNAF’s historic change in regulations of last October to allow M85 (85% bio-methanol, 15% gasoline) for the complete 350Z cup. BioMCN’s own Nissan 350Z FlexFuel has performed remarkably well last season (and will of course also participate in 2010). This shows that great performance and sustainability can go together – a combination all teams were eager to experience. All cars will be converted to drive on M85 early next year.

BioMCN nominated for Cleantech Star award
Wednesday, 25 November 2009 19:28
The Dutch division of the World Wildlife Fund, WNF, has presented a plan to the Dutch government to put The Netherlands in the global top 10 of clean technology companies. To accompany this ambitious plan, they have set up the Cleantech Star award. The WWF handpicked 20 companies they considered leading in this sector. After careful selection based on essays and presentations, BioMCN was one of the remaining 6 nominees. The jury was impressed by our innovative production process of bio-methanol and the contribution to CO2 emission reduction. In the end, Priva became the first Cleantech Star. BioMCN congratulates Priva with this title and is pleased to see so many great Dutch initiatives towards a greener future.
