BioMCN supports ‘Night of the night’

BioMCN_purification_unitOn October 30th, the Dutch night will be darker than usual. The lighting on thousands of office buildings, church towers, bridges and monuments will be turned off, enabling people to see the beauty of the night and doing some good for the environment as well. BioMCN supports this initiative and has made some permanent changes in the lighting of its offices and plant. For example, the top level of our new purification unit is lit more softly and the lighting in our new office in Almere is regulated by motion sensors. Employees are encouraged to take a critical look at the lighting in their professional and personal surroundings.

Densely lit areas can have a disruptive effect on wildlife, take away the view of the night sky and use, sometimes unnecessarily, great amounts of energy. The annual initiative ‘Night of the night’ aims to stimulate individuals, companies and (local) government to assess the options of permanently reducing lighting without compromising safety.
