Greener fuel for British Hillclimb Championship

Deryk YoungBio-methanol is introduced in the British Hillclimb Championships. Deryk Young driving his Gould GR51 has teamed up with BioMCN to power his ex-F1 Judd EV. Deryk: “Motorsport should be a leader when it comes to automotive green issues, showing the public that competitors and enthusiasts alike want to do their bit when it comes to reducing carbon emissions and improving the environment”.

 

Deryk is based near Hereford, England and has been competing (an winning) in different forms of motorsport for many years. In the 1990s he switched to single seaters right up till today where he drives a Gould GR 51 fitted with a 700hp Judd EV which is matched to an ex F1 Arrows sequential gear box. His wife Sue also competes with the car occasionally. They currently compete in the British Hillclimb Championship which has events all over the UK including Northern Ireland,Scotland and the Channel Islands. Deryk: “I am a great believer in green energy and I feel that anything we can do as competitors to enlighten the general public and followers of motorsport about reducing our carbon footprint can only help the planet”.
